DIY - Simple Braid Bracelet

This is a really fun and easy bracelet for you to make at home this summer!

All you need is:

  • Embroidery Thread ( a few colours preferably)
  • Button (Optional)
  • Tape or Clipboard (Something to hold it in place)
To start you want to cut your threads into the right size, you can change this according to the amount of colours and width you'd like to use. You will need at least 3 strands of thread (You can double this up to make the colour stand out a lot more, also will help with button closures). Each strand should be around 50 inches long, can be 25 inches if not doing a button closure.

You will begin by using one of the closure methods, which is detailed in this tutorial here for you (http://randomjoshyt.blogspot.com/2017/07/diy-friendship-bracelet-closures.html)

Now to begin the actual design side of the bracelet, you will simply need to take your three or more colours and separate them out according to colour.

You essentially want to do a very simplistic braid which you would do in your hair, so to do so you want to take one side (either the left or right most) and pull that strand into the centre.

You will then take the opposite side and put that one into the centre spot.

You will continue to do so alternating between the sides until your design is finished. During this process, you will want to ensure that your design is pulled very tight to keep it looking professional.

You can now tie off a knot in the bottom of your design to seal it in and then follow this guide again to know how to finish it off depending on your option of closure type (http://randomjoshyt.blogspot.com/2017/07/diy-friendship-bracelet-closures.html).

I hope you have followed along ok! I would definitely love to see what your finished products look like, so leave me some pictures in the comments! :D
